Letters from Rosie Hardman

While surfing the the net in 1999, Rosie Hardman came across my website and asked me to remember her to everyone she knows. She had no WEB presence at the time and I decided that I could do no better than include some of our communications. The rest of the world could see what she was doing.

Well, a great many things have happened since then! And NOW I can do no better than direct you to Rosie's domain. I think you will agree that she has made a really good job of her two years in WEB publishing!

She is constantly busy making changes and additions to the pages. I include her latest news .......

    "Hi there everyone!

It's been some time since I sent a circular letter out but I wanted to wait until I had some positive news for everyone... and this is definitely the right moment!

First of all - thanks to everyone who bought the CD 'The Lost Leader' - it has been an incredible success! Thank you for all the kind emails and letters I received about it too.

I'm sure a LOT of you will be glad to know that the project to do a compilation CD from my Plant Life albums is going ahead in 2002. I am waiting to get some up to date photos done after Xmas. In fact the photographer came round to do them a couple of weeks ago - only to discover that overnight his camera had given up the ghost and had to go in for repairs! However I've even been given the catalogue number - so it IS happening. The tracks are all chosen and I took careful note about the ones that some of you sent me on your 'most wanted' list Keep your eye on my site for further news on this.....

A number of people have also written to me to ask if I have any copies of my older albums available. Some of these are getting very rare and fetching amazing (silly is another word!) prices on the web secondhand now. One copy of Jerseyburger sold on the web for £350! I have managed to get hold of a few copies of various albums- at the best prices I can find - so if anyone is interested I have the following available (all prices include packing and Recorded Delivery):

QUEEN OF HEARTS - my very first album from 1968! 2 copies. One only in fair condition £50 but one has a good (for its age!) cover and the record in very good condition £120.

EAGLE OVER BLUE MOUNTAIN - 3 copies. Covers not perfect but records in excellent condition £25.

STOPPED IN MY TRACKS - 3 copies. Covers Good - Record Mint Condition £15.

FIREBIRD - 1 copy. Cover fair - record very good condition £50

My website continues to grow at a pace.... I got thrown out by my last web-host for using too much bandwidth in September. For those people who are not familiar with this term it literally means that I had so many visitors/downloads from my site that the people who hosted my site couldn't cope with it! In fact I've had to move my site to a webhost in America because I couldn't find a host in the UK who could give me enough bandwidth (at a price I could afford) to cope - however the site is now well established there - so if anyone had any trouble accessing it during the change-over I apologise. I'm still in the market for suggestions for the songbook by the way - if anyone has any favourites that still aren't in there?

Personally - it's been a mixed year...

Rob and I haven't done any travelling this year. We decided to give it a rest as my arthritis was playing up a lot and it was becoming hard work to do long haul flights. Also sadly we lost several friends on the music scene since last Xmas - starting of course with Isaac Guillory last New Year - then Mai Carstairs who used to run the Bell Inn at Banwell in Somerset and who gave me a home for all my gigs in the SW for 25 years.... and recently Doug Porter (ex Lonesome Travellers) from Derbyshire... and of course everyone's life has been affected by the events of September 11th...

On the positive side, I've spent a lot of my time concentrating on graphic work and teaching myself a new program called Bryce 4 which creates artificial 3D worlds. I've been working in collaboration with a local water-colour artist, producing digital versions of her work for reproduction and we've just landed a nice order for our joint work. I became the moderator for an on-line Bulletin Board for ULead's PhotoImpact program and have enjoyed considerable success with the program which is extremely rewarding as it's my main interest in life these days.

Rob and Sam (our dog - who is nearly 14 and still bouncing around like a pup!) are both very well - Rob officially retired from the University in September but has been 'bought back' by them for two days per week for three years. He's still a workaholic though and is now expanding the private consultancy side of his work. I've taken over his office and anyone who wants his services now finds themselves facing a tough negotiator!

That's about it - except to wish you all a very Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year - oh - and DO go and see the Lord of the Rings... now THAT's what I call a film!!!!! All that remains is to open the bottle and down a few, go to bed and hope that Santa has received my Christmas List and that tomorrow morning I'll find Patrick Swayze or Sean Bean neatly wrapped under my Christmas Tree.... no folks - the old gal hasn't changed one bit..... !!!

Love Rosie"
